Youth Reporting Center Programming Options

Youth can be referred to more than one program.

Commit to Buckle (Seat Belt Safety) - 1 day - An educational presentation promoting seat belt use among Montanan's, it focuses on residents of Montana and all the information and statistics provided come from the state records. It provides the facts about seat belt use and what it can cost individuals, families, and the state as a whole. A guest presenter is brought in for this program.

Teen Dating Violence/Healthy Relationships - 1 day - Students explore what makes up a healthy relationship and what teen dating violence looks like. Interactive activities provide participants to express the way they feel about these issues and explore what other's opinions are. A guest presenter is brought in for this class. Class size is recommended at 3+.

Gender/Media Stereotypes - 1 day - Explore the rigid gender stereotypes that exist for men and women, and how they can have a negative effect on society. Bring awareness to teens on how to critically analyze media and what kind of message it is sending. A guest presenter is brought in for this class.

Alcohol-Wise JV - 1-3 days Ages 12-14 - 1st offense Cost is $60 - Alcohol Wise JV provides relevant alcohol & drug information to teens. The student can compare personalized feedback with social norms, review social skills, tips for building relationships, and gain a better understanding of the healthy choices available in today's culture. This is an online course.

Marijuana 101 - 1-3 days Ages 12-14 - 1st offense Cost is $60 - Marijuana 101 provides a low-cost educational sanction to teens. The student will explore the impact of marijuana use on health, academic performance, dropout rates, getting a job and future earnings. This is an online course.
